Celebrating Life

I was watching the last of Oprah today and saw the story of this couple and thought I should share this with others. The Mom made a profound statement that she knew she could raise Eliot because she could cry later-but for now she was going to celebrate each day that she had with her little one before he passed on. It made me think, how do I celebrate each day? Each of us have the ability to turn our trials into triumphs, if we only give it to God he can help to heal our hearts and turn our minds to the positive. I think that this amazing couple is a great example of this. I love where it says in the video it says something to the effect that God is able to touch the lives of others with a boy who never even spoke. So I ask myself how am I touching the lives of others, can my example alone do it in a positive way? I hope you all enjoy this little film in the celebration of this little ones life, I will warn you that it is sad-but hopeful. By the way, Eliot will have a little brother soon, and I believe he is in heaven helping to send him down!

Celebrations of today for all my friends!

No longer an Idahoan

I was just de-junking my old e-mails and found this one from my Mom. I found this very fitting because I just got my Wyoming drivers license so I am no longer an Idahoan. This definitely applies to good ol' Wyoming, and parts of it to my old Idaho home.

Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about Wyoming...

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you live in Wyoming.

If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you live in Wyoming.
If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you live in Wyoming.

If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you live in Wyoming.

If "Vacation" means going anywhere south of Ft. Collins for the weekend, you live in Wyoming.

If you measure distance in squares of farm land, you live in Wyoming.

If you know several people who have hit a cow more than once, you live in Wyoming.

If you have gone from "heat" to "A/C" and back to "heat" all in the same day, you live in Wyoming.

If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you live in Wyoming.

If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you live in Wyoming.

If you carry jumpers in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you live in Wyoming.

If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit, you live in Wyoming.

If the I-80 speed limit is 75 mph -- you're going 90 and everybody is passing you, you live in Wyoming.

If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you live in Wyoming.

If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction, you live in Wyoming.

If you have more hours on your snow blower than miles on your car, you live in Wyoming.

If you find 10 degrees "a little chilly," you live in Wyoming.

If you understand these jokes, you actually have lived in Wyoming.

If you do nothing else-enjoy the journey!!!

I've been tagged!

Tagged by Angie. Basically the rules are, I tell 7 weird/interesting things about myself and then tell 7 other people to do it and leave them a comment about it! So...I am taking the challenge because I enjoy reading other peoples, and warrant a change in my blogging escapades!

1. I still (in the back of my head) have a severe desire to enter the medical field somehow! Someday I will get there-I'm just working on the how :0).

2. I get the winter blues and in moving now to a town who has more winter than any other season, I am waiting until it hits to try out several suggestions I have received on how to combat this. Its really annoying and for any of you that have it you know that-it turns me into someone I have never wanted to be. It makes me ultra aggitated to the point where at night being touched at all by anything irritates me and my skin.

3. I love taking pictures, but still feel highly inadequate in doing so and had to be convinced by my wonderful friend Linds that I should set a price list-that I have enough experience and don't have to negotiate anymore.

4. I love babies, but I still don't feel quite ready to have one of my own. Maybe within the next year or so.

5. I am more tom-boyish than girlish-but my hobbies are all ultra feminine. I would rather wear jeans than a dress, but I would rather scrapbook than hunt. However, I do like to mix it up and try to wear girly jewelry frequently. (I also like to throw in a little imitation punk when I can!)

6. I am with Angie on this one-I have cancer on both sides of my family in many forms, so I expect myself to get it at some point. I doesn't scare me right now, I guess I am just hoping that medicine progresses by then and there is a cure for it.

7. I love to travel and so far I have been out of the country a few times and all over the US, and I am constantly thinking about where I would like to go next! So far I have been to Brazil, Nicaragua, Mexico, Caribbeans. I would like to go to New Zealand/Australia, Europe, Fiji, Ireland, And Hawaii-someday hopefully!

Now I tag: Kira, Kristen, Amber, Dana, Kelsey, Linds, Kristina

Varsity vs Saratoga

Yesterday our varsity team played against Saratoga, and in the end we pulled it out 10-3. It was a rough game and we didn't exactly play our best, but the weather was warm, the company fun, and a few players had some really great plays. I have really enjoyed getting to know some of the players and being able to watch this team come together! The bonus this year is that they made it to regional's, I hope they'll continue on to state, but so far-I am just happy that they are winning, and having fun!

Play on!

Happiness in a Box (or 4)

So this is my happy birthday to me! I received 3 of my 4 boxes today! I bought an extra camera battery, and the brand new photoshop elements with my leftover business money. I got all this scrapbooking stuff and my soon to come baby legs (for my business-I am not announcing anything)with my birthday money. Seriously, I know it's sad-but I shopped all day online when the school was doing testing, and picked out all my goodies! Who knew that the shopping would be just as much fun as getting my box? Who knew that 1 little box of scrappin stuff could make my day-well I guess all of you who know me could predict that!

Enjoy your hobbies!

A Quick Look At Where We Live

So....after a few requests of posting what our place looks like-here's the first floor. I will show the upstairs when I get a chance to photograph it when it's clean :0). When you walk in there is a sitting room (with the clock and stars), then a hall with a 1/2 bath, then the open kitchen-dining-and living room. Our furniture is pretty hodge-podge, but all I can day is thank you to grandparents and family who like to give us free things! The first pieces of nice furniture we have bought are these black leather couches. I love how modern they look, and surprisingly they are pretty comfy, but so slick that you slide right out of them. It has stopped us from crashing on the couches though :0). Next piece to buy-a lovely brown leather king sized bed-I am currently saving up! Wish me luck!!!! Eric and I will hate moving from here unless we get something new with as much space and a garage! We pay a pretty penny for this place, it's teacher housing though so we only get 1 year in it (it's cheaper than market value here even at $1200/mo, the others in the area that are similar are around $2500-3000/mo), but it's only 1 year old and so much bigger than anything we have ever had, that we feel we are really lucky-even though the money was quite a shocker!
Warm homes for all my friends!

Drowning in Snow

This weekend we recieved lots of snow!! I just don't think I am ready for the cold weather and snow in my sunday shoes! Thank goodness I bought us a snow shovel early because I think we almost got a foot of snow! It's supposed to get warmer though-so I am praying for that, atleast for a little while longer!
Enjoy the warmth if you've got it!

Pinedale Varsity vs Kemerer

This game vs Kemerer was painful to watch. I felt bad for the boys-they were working very hard, but Kemerer was quite possibly twice the size of most of our boys. We were on defense most of the game and just couldn't seem to convert anything into a first down. The fact that it started snowing the day we played didn't help, as our field acts like a sponge for any moisture, and it was freezing cold-needless to say there was a lot of fumbles. Bummer deal, but maybe we will do better this Friday in Saratoga! Good luck boys!

Happy games to all my friends!

Only in Wyoming!!

I was out doing a photo shoot this afternoon (yesterday's weather didn't cooperate!) and as I was on my way out I stopped to take some pictures of this horse around sunset time-when it decided to check out the insides of my car! Soooo funny, but I'm not a big fan of horses. I mean I think they're beautiful, but they kinda freak me out because they're so big-thank goodness this one was nice. Yes, that is him inside my Pilot-next to my light switch-hahaha, only in Wyoming :0).

Close encounters for all my buds!

Gameday-October 3rd

Happy birthday to me! I skipped out on school and went with our friends the Nelson's to the Pinedale Varsity v.s. Mountain View. WE WON, and will be going to the regional tournament for the first time in a long time. Although there was a game delay and a little rain-the game was definitely worth it, so thank you boys for the birthday win!!

Play on!
